A driver must accomplish three things well in order to pass the roadtest and to become a life long safe driver.

1)Manage the car well.(Steering, gas and brake control)

2)Learn and know all rules and regulations of the road. Protect and defend yourself by knowing the road code. You must gain EXPERIENCE.

3)Understand that you are not the only one on the road. A driver must learn to yield the right of way. All cars can not go at the same time. Everyone takes a turn. Who has the right of way?

On average it takes a new driver 10-20 hours of driving to gain confidence with the driving controls of the car. Driving experience can take up to 50 hours. The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles mandates that every driver under 18 yrs old drive 15 hours at night and another 35 hours in the day time.
